How to figure fence sections & posts -
part 2
4: How to figure how many posts you will need
- There are 5 different types of posts you can order
- BLANK POST. . . This is typically
used up next to a structure to hang a gate
off of or to attach a latch or receiver
for a gate. This post will have no routed
holes.
- END POST. . . This is used where a
stretch of fence will dead into. It will
have holes routed for rails only on one
side.
- LINE POST. . . This is used in the
main stretch of a fence and will have
holes routed for rails on two opposing
sides.
- CORNER POST. . . This is uses when a
stretch of fence is going to change
direction to a right angle. This post will
have rail holes routed on two adjoining
corners.
- THREE WAY POST. . . This is used when you
will have a straight section of fence and
will have another stretch of fence tying
into it. This post will be routed for
rails on three sides
- On your lay out drawing draw a square
where all END POSTS, CORNER POSTS, BLANK
POSTS, & THREE WAY POSTS are located.
NOTE: You do not have to draw in or mark
where LINE POSTS are located. They will be
figured for you on our WORK SHEET FOR FENCE,
STANDARD GATES & POSTS (box
H)
- In each square write in a "C" for CORNER
POST, "B" for BLANK POST, "E"
for END POST, or "T" for THREE WAY
POST
